Family Vacation - Barcelona 2013

This post has been sitting in draft form for awhile now, I should post it and get some the pictures from the other stops we made up as well.

We decided to take a family vacation for our wedding anniversary. Europe was to be our destination as our daughters have never been there before. We decide to go back on a cruise with some land time with 3 or 4 days in Venice and a week in Barcelona at the end of the cruise.

Shannon's friend met us in Barcelona for the week since she was just a quick flight away in Serbia and the 3 girls wanted to party in Barcelona together. Certainly wouldn't be dragging us along or at least me. There was one night where the 3 girls woke up on the beach after a night of partying. Not too unusual for Barcelona party goers...hmmm never really got a plausible story... but all arrived back safely together.

The first cruise we went on with Princess Cruises was on the "Royal Princess". This cruise disembarked in Barcelona.

This cruise many years later, on it's inaugural cruise, the new "Royal Princess" disembarking at the same destination. Talk about a coincidence, with many of the same stops in Italy. This time the trip included Greece and Turkey.

On board heading to dinner

Some of the great food we had

La Sagrada Familia

One of my favorite places to see in Barcelona is La Sagrada Familia. It has been under construction since 1882. It is one of those places you love it or hate it. The stained glass work is modern and spectacular in the brilliant Barcelona sun.

Just because you are on vacation doesn't mean you can't cook.
